Jason Schwartz, LSW, MS
Director of Community Support Services

Therapist Mojave Counseling

Jason Schwartz holds a BASW from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) and a Terminal Master’s degree in Social Psychology from the University of California, Santa Cruz. His career in social work began in 1975 as a VISTA volunteer, where he dedicated 30 hours per week to supporting youth at a runaway hostel.

For the past 30 years, Jason has served as the Director of Community Support Services at Mojave, an organization that provides critical services to individuals living with serious and persistent mental illness who are medically indigent. His department oversees a wide range of services, including case management by a team of up to 40 case managers, housing resources, forensic services across four specialty court programs, and community coordination and communication.

Throughout his tenure at Mojave, Jason has witnessed affordable housing emerge as the most pressing need for service recipients. This need has intensified due to rent increases that far outpace disability payment adjustments. In response, Jason is leading a new project in partnership with Ovation Properties and the Southern Nevada Regional Housing Authority. The initiative, which recently broke ground, will create a 50-unit apartment complex for extremely low-income residents, supported by site-based housing vouchers to ensure affordability. The development will also offer on-site support services, including case management from Mojave, to help residents achieve sustainable, permanent housing. The project is slated for completion in the fall of 2025.
