Ovunc Bardakcioglu, MD
Colon and Rectal Surgery
Dr. Ovunc Bardakcioglu, an associate professor of surgery at the Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine at UNLV, serves as chief of the Division of Colon and Rectal Surgery.
Dr. Bardakcioglu was educated in Germany and chose to specialize in general surgery during his residency at Beth Israel Medical Center.
He completed a fellowship in colon and rectal surgery at Cedars Sinai Medical Center, Los Angeles.
Certified by the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Colon and Rectal Surgery, Dr. Bardakcioglu was one of the first colorectal robotics surgeons in the U.S. and wrote the first landmark textbook on minimally invasive colorectal surgery, which received many national and international accolades. He also serves as the director of Sunrise Hospital’s Digestive Health Institute.
He delivers lectures on these topics at many national society meetings and international conferences.
