Joshua MacDavid, MD
Plastic Surgery
Born and raised in Las Vegas, Nevada, Joshua MacDavid, MD, is an assistant professor in the Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine at UNLV Department of Plastic Surgery. After receiving his medical degree from the University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine, Dr. MacDavid completed a residency in general surgery at the Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine and also completed a fellowship in plastic and reconstructive surgery at the University of Louisville School of Medicine.
Along with surgical interests in abdominal wall reconstruction, microsurgery, and all types of reconstruction after oncologic surgery and trauma, Dr. MacDavid has several research interests such as surgical infectious disease and ways that nutrition can be utilized to optimize surgical outcomes. He has published in several scientific journals including the Journal of Reconstructive Microsurgery and Journal of Cellular Physiology, and he has also written numerous textbook chapters.
Dr. MacDavid believes practicing medicine is a privilege. His personal philosophy is to always treat his patients how he would treat his family members and to never ask a patient to do something that he himself would not do.
