Alison Netski, MD
Psychiatry & Behavioral Health
Alison Netski, MD, is the vice dean of clinical affairs and professor of psychiatry at the Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine at UNLV. Board certified from the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in psychiatry and psychosomatic medicine, Dr. Netski specializes in the treatment of adults with a broad range of psychiatric illness including mood, psychotic, and anxiety disorders.
In addition to her clinical practice, Dr. Netski, who often provides consultation services at University Medical Center, is actively involved in the education of her residents and medical students. She is proud that so many of them are now working at major hospitals in Southern Nevada, helping serve a community in great need of their compassion and expertise. Dr. Netski has also started programs in Southern Nevada that focus on early intervention for serious mental illness. In her role as vice dean, Dr. Netski is working collaboratively with faculty and community partners to continue to grow the clinical practice at UNLV Health and bring much needed medical care to Southern Nevada.
While attending the University of Nevada, Reno (UNR) School of Medicine, she noted that psychiatric patients often did not receive proper care because nurses feared them. That people in desperate need of care were not receiving it propelled her to enter the field of psychiatry.
Raised in Northern Nevada, she attended UNR and graduated (magna cum laude) with a biology degree. Four years later she graduated from UNR School of Medicine. After completing her residency at the University of Maryland/Sheppard Pratt, she and her husband returned to Nevada.
